"Living in a stable, adequate home that is affordable to the household yields a multitude of opportunities and stronger outcomes for children, youth, and adults. A stable home provides a platform for improved outcomes around employment, health, and education."

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Southwest Texas Council understands how important housing is for the overall security of a family. When an individual or family reaches out to us, we can provide limited financial assistance for expenses such as utility bills and rent to low-income individuals as outlined by the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
We also offer Rapid Rehousing Program funded by Bexar County Economic and Community Development Department Development Services Division and the City of San Antonio - Dept. of Human Services.
If you need assistance, please visit our GET HELP page.
Our services are provided by and for the community.
For 150 years, our commitment to individuals and families struggling has not wavered. We are committed to serving a broad population of all ages, with a special focus on veterans, the disabled, seniors, those with children under 5, the homeless, and those at high risk of becoming homeless.
Through our Family And Community Assistance Program, we provide direct support to our community's most vulnerable residents with essential needs: Food, Housing, and Clothing.
In collaboration with other partner agencies, we can also offer an array of support services through our referral program.
To qualify, families must live at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Level to qualify for emergency financial assistance. For a family of two, this translates to a maximum annual income of $25,365; a family of four translates to a maximum annual income of $38,625 (2019 Levels).
Priority is given to families with small children and the elderly.

At St. Vincent de Paul, Southwest Texas, we guide and oversee a network of more than 53 Conference distribution sites in the community. Once individuals and families reach out to us, a Family and Community Assistance Program staff person will see what resources we can offer, and connect them to the conference located closest to them.
